The main difference between Sandtex masonry paint and the average Spanish exterior paint is that Sandtex is a 'Breathable' paint and a majority of the Spanish exterior paints are 'Plastico' or 'Plastic'.

Plastic paints will seal your  villa or building, not allowing the walsl to breathe and trapping any moisture behind the paint causing the paint to flake, or lift off the wall.

Sandtex's microseal technology allows any moisture to evaporate from the wall through the paint while still protecting water ingress from the outside.

 Providing that the correct preparation has been undertaken in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the recommended preparatory products have been used,i.e. Sandtex and that the substrate is in good condition, then the product i.e Sandtex Masonry Paint will last for 15 years. By 'Last For 15 Years' we mean that the paint film integrity will be good and that no flaking or failure should occur.

The colour of the product will remain good, however slight colour change may occur due to dirt contamination over such a long period of time. Although the formulation of Sandtex Masonry Paint is designed to repel dirt, we cannot guaruntee that the paint film will not become dirty over time, unless a specific dirt repellent is used.
